Being an athlete takes skill, talent and determination. Athletes are often high performing individuals, both on and off the field/ice/arena. But no amount of achievement can ensure immunity to addiction which does not discriminate based on race, socioeconomic status, age, religion, education, gender identity or sexual orientation. Even the most successful individuals can struggle with alcohol and drug abuse during and after their athletic career.
Wesleyan’s Athletics Advantage Program (A+) invites you to listen to a former Wes athlete’s personal account of alcohol abuse, which began in college and their road to recovery years later.
